Experience world-class respiratory care at Sunshine
Your lungs are the filter of air in your body. When you inhale the air outside, it is usually filled with harmful substances but your lungs filter the air you breathe, adding oxygen to the blood received from the heart. This blood goes back to the heart from there, to other parts of your body. The carbon dioxide in the air is let out when you exhale.
If you or anyone you know is having a breathing issue or shortness of breath, it does not always indicate that they or you have a respiratory disease.
However, if it is continuous, it does indicate a respiratory disease.
Lung and respiratory diseases are common all over the world, specially in India. A country where smoking and pollution is usually always high, lung diseases are inevitable. Genetics plays a very important role as well.
There are many diseases which are respiratory in nature, the most common being asthma. Apart from asthma, there is Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Pneumonia, Bronchitis, Tuberculosis and many more.
In some of these diseases such as asthma and COPD, the disease attacks the trachea which is your windpipe while for the other diseases such as Pneumonia and tuberculosis, the disease attacks the alveoli or commonly called the air sacs, present in your lungs.

Lesions outside the bronchi can be visualised and sampled with more precision with this device.
