Dr. A. V. Gurava Reddy did his M.B.B.S from Guntur Medical College, Guntur in 1983 and Post Graduation from Sancheti Orthopaedic Institute, Pune in 1987. He was certified by the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi in 1990 as Diplomat of the National Board for the practice of Orthopaedic Surgery. He received M.Ch (Ortho) from University of Liverpool, UK in 1994 and FRCS from Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK in 1998.
Dr. Gurava Reddy worked for 10 years in UK, in premier Orthopaedic Centers in Leeds, Liverpool and Exeter training rotations. He also worked for 5 years as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad. He was the Founder Director of KIMS, Secunderabad and was Consultant Joint Replacement Surgeon at KIMS from 2005 to 2009. At KIMS Dr. Gurava Reddy performed 2000 Join Replacements, 1250 surgeries in the field of Trauma and cold orthopedics, and over 300 TKR & THR surgeries.
He is founder member of Indian Society of Hip & Knee Surgeons and life member of the Indo German Orthopaedic Foundation. He is a faculty member in National and International Joint Replacement Conferences and tutor for Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK. Since Jan 2004 Johnson & Johnson have fellowship programs with Dr. Gurava Reddy to train the Surgeons in Arthroplasty. Since Jan 2006 he is working as Guide for DNB Trainees (National Board of Examinations) in the discipline of Orthopaedics in KIMS.
Dr. Gurava Reddy has been conducting clinical trails at KIMS. He is the Principal Investigator at KIMS for a multinational, multicentric, global phase III clinical trial titled “Record 4 Study: Regulation of Coagulation in Orthopeadic Surgery to prevent DVT and PE.
