5. Fellowship
( A ) AANS Fellowship
I was one of the two recipients of the coveted " AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF NEUROLOGICAL SURGEONS
INTERNATIONAL VISITING SURGEONS FELLOWSHIP" for the year 2007. The fellowship was of three months from August till October 2007 at WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY,DETROIT, MICHIGAN. This fellowship provided me ample opportunities to observe clinical neurosurgery and patient care, as well as perform specific procedures in the research lab. The fellowship allowed me to develop my skills in skull base neurosurgery as well as endoscopic neurosurgery. I also got to learn the basics of epilepsy surgery and cortical mapping. I was also exposed to complex spine surgeries including disc replacements.
(B) Paediatric Neurosurqery Fellowship
I joined the paediatric neurosurgery fellowship at CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL OF EASTERN ONTARIO,OTTAWA,CANADA in January 2008. I am working in the capacity of clinical fellow and actively involved in the clinical workup, surgery and the postoperative management of the children. I am exposed to the neuronavigation as well as its use during surgery. During the fellowship I am being exposed to variety of paediatric cases ranging from congenital cranial anomalies, spinal dysraphism, neurooncology and epilepsy surgery. I had the privilege of operating/assisting on few of the rare cases in paediatric neurosurgery. I am also actively involved in the research and currently working on a project. 6. Publications
