Dr. A.V. Gurava Reddy is a true master of the game.
He is widely regarded as a visionary in the field of orthopaedics and is known for embracing the human side of health care. His exemplary career, that spans more than two decades, has ensured happy and trouble-free lives for many. Prior to setting up Sunshine Hospitals, he worked across the world in various senior positions alongside great peers; great mentors including Dr. Sancheti, Dr. Campbell, Dr. Monk, Dr. Hardinge, Prof. Klenerman and others at reputed national and international health care institutions. These stints helped him pick the finer nuances of orthopaedic medicine, made him a versatile personality, and exposed him to people & global practices - all in all adding to his armoury of expertise. His remarkable journey from an intern in Guntur (Andhra Pradesh - India) to a globally renowned orthopaedic surgeon is what inspires and drives Sunshine Hospitals towards the zenith of healthcare delivery.

Dr. A.V. Gurava Reddy has been an active faculty member at various national and international conferences and  at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK. Also, he is the founder member of "Indian Society of Hip & Knee Surgeons".

Apart from steering Sunshine Hospitals towards medical excellence, Dr. A.V. Gurava Reddy performs close to 2000 Joint Replacements (Hip, Knee and Shoulder both Primary and Revision) in a  year, a feat pulled by very few not only in South Asia, but the entire world. He is ably supported by a 100+ team in this journey of caring and curing.

Pioneering Efforts:

• Performed Joint Replacement surgeries on patients from Tanzania, Nigeria, Middle East and South Africa
• Performed the highest number of Buechel - Pappas mobile bearing total knee arthroplasty in the whole of India
• Performed the highest number of bilateral simultaneous total knee arthroplasties in A.P.
• 1st in Andhra Pradesh to use computer navigation system for total knee arthroplasty
• 1st in Andhra Pradesh to launch Oxinium Smith and Nephew total knee prosthesis
• 1st in Andhra Pradesh to perform all four joint replacements on a single patient
• 1st in Andhra Pradesh to launch CR-150 Hiflex cruciate retaining total knee arthroplasty

The Department of Orthopedics at Sunshine Hospitals, spearheaded by Dr. A.V. In addition, it is also gearing up for full-fledged capabilities in the evolving limb reconstruction technique.
