Immunize Your Child For A Healthy Future – World Immunization Week (24-30 April)
Immunization is a process of boosting a person’s inbuilt immune system to fight against infectious disease through vaccination. Vaccination eradicated so many diseases and saved millions of lives. Yet, there are nearly 20 million unvaccinated and under-vaccinated children in the world today.
World Immunization Week, which is a global public health campaign commemorated every year in the last week of April to raise awareness globally and increase rates of immunization against the vaccine-preventable diseases around the world.
This year’s campaign theme of the World Health Organization (WHO) is Protected Together: Vaccines Work! Still, some people in the world are not getting a timely vaccine and effecting by vaccine-preventable diseases. Let’s do our part and make sure that every person you know is vaccinated and protected from vaccine-preventable diseases.
