Pulmonary Fitness Check – An Overview
In the morning of a gloomy and rainy day in June, 2012, Dr. Michael McErlain, a 45 year old Army Surgeon strapped on his shoes to complete 44 mile marathon in Normandy, France. He was in good shape and mentally ready to compete and complete the marathon, after all, it was for charity. Little did anyone know that the doctor’s famed marathon run after completing 44 miles would also be his last. Dr. McErlain died due to an unexplainable and undiagnosed heart and pulmonary condition. He was ‘supremely fit’. Surprising right? Once we read more into it, the surprises turn into fear.
