World Brain Tumor Day, 8 June 2019
A brain tumor is a type of cancer that affects brain parts. These tumours can be cancerous (malignant tumors) or non-cancerous (benign tumors) in nature. Malignant tumors are more dangerous as they spread and damage surrounding tissues, unlike benign tumors.
World Brain Tumor Day is observed on June 08, every year. The German Brain Tumor Association (Deutsche Hirntumorhilfe e.V), a non-profit organization started creating awareness since 2000 and declared 8th June as World Brain Tumor Day in support of brain tumor patients.
The main aim of the day is to raise public attention to the people who are suffering from this serious disease and also to meet the urgency for more research to find a solution. Several events are being organised all over the world to educate people about brain tumours.
All these would help to find affordable and efficient treatment options for this type of cancer. We, Sunshine Hospitals as part of social responsibility, educating people about these life-threatening conditions of brain tumors and providing necessary preventive tips to the public.
