World Heart Day, 29 September 2019
In 2012, global leaders took a vow to reduce global mortality by 25% from non-communicable diseases (NCDs) by 2025. So World Heart Day is observed every year on 29 September. This year, world heart federation’s focussed on creating awareness over Cardiovascular disease (CVD). In India, Cardiovascular disease affects at least 52% of the population.
Nearly, half of all NCD deaths it the world are due to Cardiovascular disease (CVD). Approximately 17.9 million people are dying every year i.e, 31% of all global deaths. So this World Heart Day is the perfect platform for all the communities to create awareness and unite the world to fight against CVD to reduce global CVD deaths.
We, Sunshine Hospitals as part of social responsibility aims to drive an action to educate people about the importance of a healthy heart. If you control tobacco use, unhealthy diet and physical inactivity you can control the risk of heart disease. Nearly, 80% of premature deaths due to heart disease and stroke can be avoided.
